Correction – Video Profile Dating Sites Do Exists

Well, we’re getting a lot of play here on the site lately, a lot of subscribers signing up so we’d like to thank you. Message me if you’d like to post your profile and maybe some articles. But anyways, I’m here to make a correction in my last post where I mentioned that I tried to find other video profile dating sites. There are others!

That’s not all either, in my first post about video profile dating sites, I said that we’re the first – well we’re not. There are actually quite a few other dating sites out there that offer video profiles but I swear I couldn’t find one. Imagine that.

So you’ll have to forgive me but in the mean time know this: I shall be going through quite a few of these sites to see if they do indeed offer video profile features. I’m not convinced. I have to see this for myself and when I gather my information, I’ll post it here for you.

Why? There are a lot of dating sites and companies on the web offering all types of services and features related to dating but when the user signs up, well, they’re in for a surprise.

I Tried To Find Dating Site Video Profiles

Yes, I did, and to no avail. I noticed that as soon as we launched that we’re going to be offering video profiles to our members, a few more dating sites showed up offering the same service – the only thing is they just said they do but actually don’t.

We said, no more pictures, just video profiles and found that for search on those terms there actually are a few websites that do offer video profiles but when you land on their site, there isn’t one feature at all that permits the attachment of a video – how tricky is that?

Try it out yourself. Do a search or try to find a website that truly offers the ability for users to upload and attach dating site video profiles and if you do find one, well, I’ve got a bridge to sell you.

Show Me One Video Profile Dating Site

Now, we’ve been planning our video profile dating site feature for quite some time – almost 3 years but I guess in the mean time other people decided they would start offering the feature too. The only problem is, you can do a simple search for video profile dating and check out the results.

The results you will see are interesting. Yes it actually looks as if these dating sites do indeed offer video dating profiles but once you look around or register and sign up, there’s nothing. How cliche!

For instance, there’s a pretty lengthy article I found entitled “Target Your Date With a Great Video Profile”. Go ahead, search for it yourself. Sure you’ll be able to read about all the advantages of video profiles but is there anywhere to sign up? No!

Are We Able To Find The Top 5 Worst Dating Video Profiles?

It sure looks like it. Again, with a search on Google for “dating site video profiles” you’ll find another site discussing the ‘top 5 worst video profiles” but will you actually find a dating site offering the feature? No!

So what’s the problem?

It seems there are a lot of sites that want to offer the feature but haven’t got around to doing it yet, but still like to advertise that they do. But we’re not buying it.

Our motto: say what you mean and mean what you say. If you’re a dating site that offers video profiles you better be producing what you say you do!

No More Pictures – Just Video Profiles

Well it’s here and it was promised for a long time. We kept it quite for quite a while but video profile dating sites are finally here – yes the next generation in online dating.

So what’s the scoop about video profiles on dating site? Well there’s tons. For starters, it’s amazing that there are truly no other dating sites on the Internet that offer video profiles. How not? Who dropped the ball on this one?

With just a few moments contemplation, anyone can see the benefits on video profiles over regular picture profiles. With picture profiles you’re doing nothing but guess – even if you’ve messaged the dating site member back and forth for a few days or weeks, you’re still guessing. But with dating video profiles it’s the complete opposite.

Video Profiles Give You Better Freedom To Choose

There’s about two major factors that come into play in the differences between regular profiles and dating site profiles. With dating site profiles you take away 90% of the guess work. You don’t have to read a whole profile that could be full of lies and you can almost tell right away if there’s going to be chemistry. For the on-the-go person, this kind of swift decision making is always important.

But wait there’s more! With a video profile, you can express yourself much more than you ever could by writing out a text profile. Compared to video profiles, text based profiles offer nothing but dry copy – the same old same old – and you get no real idea of who you’re talking to.

Profile View Increases And Contacts

When I was on dating sites, (I always preferred free dating over paid dating sites) I understood the importance of profile views. Who wants to stay on a dating site for the rest of their lives? Not me! I put up the best picture I could with a decent headline and hoped for the best. But that’s about to change. With dating video profiles, if you’ve got your part played right, you should be getting much more contact requests and messages than ever before. Why? Cause video profiles are interesting.

Is OceansOfPeople.com A Good Dating Site?

That is the question I have about OceansOfPeople.com so I decided to join the dating site and see whether or not it was actually a good dating site.

Before I joined I did a search for some users in my local area and was surprised to find that there were at least over 130 members – not so bad – it seems to be an up-and-coming free dating site so let’s take a dive into the back end – the members area.

OK to start off, after registration there was no Email Confirmation required for my account – right away, as an owner of free dating sites myself, I know that a dating site without an email confirmation process setup, is a dating site that has a lot of spam and scam members – either now or definitely will have in the future. This is a no no and most users will identify with this.

Even PlentyOfFish has a spam system built into their messaging algorithm. And I will say, now that I’m on the Profile Setup page, it looks awfully similar to POF – too similar – even the drop-down options and mandatory profile fields are the same. This is eerie.

OK now, OceansOfPeople’s registration process wasn’t that hard. Again they look like POF but in this case I’m speaking about the user profile banner at the top – we’ve done it too so I guess it’s just the right thing to do…

Let’s Search Around OceansOfPeople.com

I wasn’t asked to put up a picture so I won’t but I’ll search around a bit. That was easy, like before I found a few members in my geo area.

OK I went as far as about to send a message to a user – I didn’t want to disturb anyone with a fake message but found the messaging system was actually really easy and simple – plus it was a popup! That’s not too bad.

OK that was easy too – uploading and managing a few images was lickety-split and easy.

Well, I’m a little busy right now, but at this moment, please note that I’m going to be deleting my OceansOfPeople account because my testing is done. What’s my rating? I’d give it an B+ today. Why not an A? Well the colors are a little hard on the eyes and the font it too small.

Other than that once it’s member base grows I’m sure there will be a lot of good relationships started there.

A Lot Has Gone On In The Dating Site World

Oh yes it has. There’s been quite a lot of play since the last time I blogged about free dating sites and I’ve fallen behind a bit. But I want you to know, I’ll be dedicating more time over the next few months to updating you with some of the dating industry news that’s been happening since my absence.

For one, KissCafe took a dive for a few months. They were completely removed from the search results for a little over 4 months – even five. Then suddenly out of the blue, for certain searches they started showing up again – again with a new title and a new site. It looks like KissCafe is going releasing a Dating 2.0 version of their website – neat!

Then there was the old PlentyOfFish but this time it wasn’t much of a feature change but it was a complete website over-haul – seriously – it looks like this is one of POF’s biggest template changes ever. Your main functions and features are the same but if you take a look around the site you’ll see Markus’ programmer really needs to freshen up his CSS skills – but that’s besides the point.

Oh, and to boot, there’s another free dating site on the block and it’s name is Ocean’s of People – as a matter of fact I’m actually going to try it out and come back to you with some of my findings. So far I think POF’s got the best interface but you never know, OceansOfPeople could be a good dating site but my question is, do I have to pay at all? It kind of looks like a template/affiliate dating site – we shall see.

Lastly, we’re back to free communication dating or free communication weekends – either or – I need to check out what eHarmony are saying these says – have they turned into a free dating site yet? I really wonder and I’ll post back with my research and results.
